The 1991 Hess Truck and Racer is often confused with the 1988 model. However, the friction-powered racer was completely redesigned and could now continuously roll. Truck detail included 27 different red, white, and yellow lights controlled by a switch on the trailer. There were 1,300,000 of these toys made. Sporting red wheels this toy also had numerous chrome features on the front, side, and wheels. The rear license plate read, Hess 1991.
