1964-65 Hess Trucks
The Hess Tanker Trailer was the very first Hess Toy Truck. It was designed as a replica of the company’s real tanker trailer truck and used a dark green, white, and yellow color scheme like that used on their fleet at the time. It featured working headlights and taillights, and the tank was designed so it could be filled with water using a red funnel with that sported the Hess logo. The tank could then drained through a hose attached to the truck. A button on the tail end of the truck controlled the lights. Because only 150,000 of these toys were manufactured, it is one of the most sought after vintage toys by avid Hess Truck collectors.
