While nearly identical to the 1977 toy, the font or logotype on decal placed on the back of the 1978 Hess Truck oil tanker is wider and bolder. There was also more chrome accents on this truck than the prior year. Another unique feature is that Woodbridge was misspelled on the box. There were 600,000 of these toys made for the 1978 holiday season.
